Forum Rules / Why can't I make a signature, etc.
« on: February 11, 2005, 12:24:02 am »
Here is a list of the forum rules.  Pretty short and sweet...

  • Do not abuse your forum privileges.

  • Do not attack/flame other members.  Instead, if you find their post inappropriate report it using the "Report to moderators" link in the user's post.

  • Keep sig sizes reasonable.

  • Avatars may be up to 100 by 100 pixels in size. (Uploaded, oversized images are automatally resized down.)

  • If you post images in forum threads, you should own the bandwidth that is providing those images. I think I have attachments enabled so you could just post an image that way...

  • Do not post how to obtain warez, crackz, serialz, emulators, porn/hentai, bootlegs, music, or any other sort of copyrighted material or provide any links to such items.

I just changed the forum permissions so that new users can not adjust certain portions of their profile until they've made at least two posts.

I apologize for this inconvenience, however we have had hundreds if not a thousand registrations in the past by spammers.  Most of these spammers do not make posts but instead create links to the sites they are spamming in their user profiles.  I assume this is an attempt to influence search engine algorithms.  The few spammers that do make posts usually only make one.

Also, about once every month or so I will delete new accounts that have not made any posts.  If you register on this website, you must of had something you wanted to say, right?  :)  Don't be shy.  It may occasionally take some time for someone to reply to you, but we will always look forward to what people have to say here.

EDIT Feb 4, 2011: Just mass deleted about 800 accounts.  I would imagine that a few of them were legit...  If you were affected and your account should not have been deleted, please re-register and make at least one post so you don't get deleted again in the future...
