I just changed the forum permissions so that new users can not adjust certain portions of their profile until they've made at least two posts.

I apologize for this inconvenience, however we have had hundreds if not a thousand registrations in the past by spammers.  Most of these spammers do not make posts but instead create links to the sites they are spamming in their user profiles.  I assume this is an attempt to influence search engine algorithms.  The few spammers that do make posts usually only make one.

Also, about once every month or so I will delete new accounts that have not made any posts.  If you register on this website, you must of had something you wanted to say, right?  :)  Don't be shy.  It may occasionally take some time for someone to reply to you, but we will always look forward to what people have to say here.

EDIT Feb 4, 2011: Just mass deleted about 800 accounts.  I would imagine that a few of them were legit...  If you were affected and your account should not have been deleted, please re-register and make at least one post so you don't get deleted again in the future...

Anime Music Videos / Re: Let's just steal RDS's work

Song and anime are the same as Koop's momentum, but the scenes and editing are different.

Most of the video is sped up footage of momentum.  Bits and pieces appear to be added in.

RDS > AMV  ??? :o

But... you do know I'm an admin here and at the org, right?  ...or do you consider me to be one of the supposedly non-existant cool admins?   :-\

In any case, it is true the atmosphere here is more lax.  Lax -- but typically dead.

Good To know That I can upload my videos here now  8)

Expect that feature to be added in the year 2525.  >_> <_<

Cool stuff.  :)

(Though I don't think I'd call it an "RDS amv" when only two of the five editors were RDS members.  :P)

Our friends Brad Backofen and Jeff Heller (a.k.a. AtomX and Gambit within the AMV community) have created an interesting music review podcast and are eager for your feedback/input.  To learn more, click the lo-fidelity link at the bottom of our menu to the right.

So is the main page picture going to  be a screenshot of the studio's most recent video from now on? If so, that is probably a good idea. It gives us some incentive to finish some vids...  :P

Liz and Koop should be able to do it now with some files I recently added, but I will try to update the image whenever new videos are released as well.  Just make sure I'm aware somehow.  : )

I really want to finish coding the site too... but that will probably have to wait until early next year since I'll be working full time and taking college classes starting the 20th.

You don't have any anime DVDs to work with?  That is where we pull most of our footage from.

See this guide for more info on ripping and editing with your DVDs:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/working_with_dvd.pdf

That guide is somewhat outdated, but if you're very serious about getting into this hobby, then I highly recommend this guide instead.  It is much more in-depth and up-to-date.

  I've been wanting to make a video to this song (for years now -_-) using Garden State, but even with conflicting vision/sync ideas, I enjoyed it.

Anime Music Videos / Re: What cind a pc do you guys use?specs...

Kind of a late reply but...  this is my current system:

--Dell 24" Wide Screen LCD
--Antec P180 case
--Logitech Wireless Mouse and Keyboard combo
--Windows Vista Ultimate
--AMD Athlon64 X2 4800+
--2GB PC3200 DDR Ram
--1 TB total HDD space, 500 GB of which are in RAID 1
--ATI Radeon x850 Pro AGP Graphics Card
--Maddog 16x dual layer DVD burner
--Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer

No videos have yet been made on this system.  -_-

My first two videos were edited on a much, much slower system (AMD 1800+) with 512MB of ram, using a crappy CRT monitor, and a 20GB hard drive for storage.
